Top Two......Sorbetto versus Vintage

Two of my most recent additions to my non colourful wardrobe (tends to consist of black, grey, cream, denim) - a total colour fobe when it comes to clothes.

Here the Sorbetto top by Colette Patterns makes an appearance in slate grey poly cotton.  Again for this version, I inverted the pleat and finished with matching hand made bias binding on the armholes, neckline and hemline to create a lovely finished edge.  At £3.99 a metre this versatile little number cost me aprox £7.00 to make and a couple of hours from start to finish.

And I couldn't resist this sparkly number (admittedly I have removed the shoulder pads!) that I picked up at Judys Vintage Fair last week for a mere £18.  I adore the detail on the sleeve and hemline - I think it will lend itself to be worn with skinnies and heels or would look elegant teamed with a pencil skirt and nipped in at the waist with a skinny belt.

Sewing Projects.....Sorbetto

This versatile pattern from Colette Patterns  is wonderful!  Here I made the Sorbetto top (which is a free download able pattern) in sheer gold fabric.  I inverted the front pleat to make nice and loose, giving the option to wear floaty or nipped in at the waist with a vintage belt.

Admittedly the fabric was a  nightmare to work with, it frayed madly and due to the nature of the finish I was unable to press, but I love it!  I wish I had bought enough fabric to make one for me -  as this one was for my best friend Josey Jo - I thought it would look amazing with battered denim.

Collar by Colette Patterns..........

Leopard Print Satin Collar

Metallic Collar with satin ties

For ages I have been looking for a pattern for a collar.  Right now I am into wearing one main accessory, whether it be a statement necklace or a haircomb.

I had been looking for a collar pattern for a while, so I was like a dog with two dicks when I found this collar pattern by my favourite creative ladies at Colette Patterns.  More so - you can download it for free here......

The Leopard Print collar I made for myself and have worn loads and the Metallic gold, silver and black collar I have made for a friend, hope she loves it....

Colette Patterns is a great resource and inspires me on a daily basis, keep up the great work girls!
